Transcribed Selections from the Hospital Notebook #3

The human heart is so fickle,
That only when bound by
Responsibility,
Vow,
Promise,
Vision,
Or fainting hope
Does it force itself to its original desires.

Otherwise it would simply live
In daydreams
That in ephemeral moments
Blend with reality
And morph
Its primordial goal.
